Songs to Blast in the Car

Updated: Aug 27, 2019

Hello pretty people,

Summer time means windows down and music blasting! That's why today's post will be the songs I'm currently jamming out to in my car. You'll find a mix of dancehall, hip hop, and pop in the playlist below along with the one podcast that I listen to weekly. The songs are numbered but are in no particular order.

Leave a comment letting me know your summer favs so I can add them to my playlist!

1. Touch Down Remix - Stylo G, The Fanatix, Nicki Minaj, Vybz Kartel

Dancehall/Hip-Hip - My boyfriend showed me this song and it is a BANGER. I play this song at least once every time I'm in the car!

2. Sucker - Jonas Brothers

Pop - Being a big fan of the Jonas Brothers back in the day, you better believe I was pretty excited when they announced their reunion. This is my favourite of their releases so far!

3. Know Me - NAV

Hip-Hop - My boyfriend also showed me this song and a few others on this playlist.. what can I say, he has really good taste in music.

4. Toast - Koffee

Reggae - Boyf also showed me this one .. OOPS. We were blasting this in the car before anyone even knew about it. She also has another song, Rapture, that's really good!

5. Freaky - Tory Lanez

Hip/Hop - This song is raunchy AF and I've never seen the music video but I'm sure it's just as explicit. But this song has a bomb ass beat that is so great it made it on my list.

6. Don't Call Me Up - Mabel

Pop - I love a song where a girl is feelin' herself and knows her worth. Love yourself girls bc you are amazing!! ❤

7. Good As Hell - Lizzo

Hip-Hop/Pop - Idk how to describe this song other than AMAZING! Fav line: Boss up and change your life; you can have it all, no sacrifice. Fans of the song, who else sang that when they read it?? Another boss ass betch who loves herself and tells it like it is. LOVE YOURSELF!! ❤

8. Boasty - Wiley, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, Idris Elba

Dancehall/Hip-Hop - If you haven't heard this song yet, where have you been? Idris Elba's verse is my favourite! Fun fact: Idris Elba played Charles Minor (minor, I hardly know her!) in The Office!!!

9. Pine & Ginger - Amindi, Fro$t, Tessellated, Valleyz

Electronic/Dancehall - Thank you to my boyfriend for showing me this song. It's a great summer mix! A nice twist to dancehall music.

10. La Di Da - Lennon Stella

Pop - Despite the fact that this song is about arguing with your s/o, it's catchy and has a great beat! My boyfriend can't help but sing this song (even when the music isn't playing)!

11. Summer Days - Martin Garrix, Macklemore, Fall Out Boy

Dance/Pop/Funk - This is such a great summer song! Perfect for blasting in the car or by the beach! As some of the comments on the video say, a collab we didn't know we needed!!

12. Favela - Ina Wroldsen, Alok

Pop - For those who will search it (like me) a Favela is a low/middle income neighbourhood. With a nice beat and hints of Spanish, this song is guaranteed to get stuck in your head!

13. Focus - Bazzi, 21 Savage

Hip-Hop/Pop - I might have a slight crush on Bazzi. His voice is beautiful and every collab he's done has absolutely blown it out of the water.

14. Truth Hurts - Lizzo

Hip-Hop/Pop - Lizzo is an inspiration to girls everywhere. Other than the fact that she sings to empower women and to let men know they ain't shit, she never gave up her dreams even when she first released this single back in 2017. This song was released before it's time! Although back then it may not have been a hit, she re-released it in 2019 and now it's stuck in the top charts!

15. Views Podcast - David Dobrik, Jason Nash

If you love David Dobrik's short but action packed YouTube videos, you'll more than enjoy the podcast. A full 40-45 minutes of David and Jason rambling, stating facts/opinions on things they don't know about too well, and 25 beautiful and pure seconds of JTWP (Joe's Teeny Weeny Podcast) which officially hit 1 million listeners (lmaoooo listeners of the podcast will laugh).

* Some but not all of the podcasts are posted on Youtube. To listen to the episodes from the first to the most recent you would need to use Spotify or Apple Podcast. They each also have their own hilarious Youtube channels, so make sure you check those out as well!

Comment below the current/classic songs that you jam out to before you go! I'm always looking for new music to add to my playlist. Make sure to include your favourite podcasts as well, I'm looking to branch out!

Thanks for reading!

Much love,

Crystal
